Owen, Owen, Owen!!!
That little 2-year-old boy was hanging out in the back of the pickup in December...
WOW! He has changed so much...
This stinker was playing in the gym stands while his bubba was in gymnastics in March.
In April, we went to a country wedding ... here he is - hamming it up!
My, oh my... does he give some crazy looks.
Then, he stuns you with a cheesy grin like that!
Or, turns around and gives typical two-year-old attitude... ha!
He LOOOVES to eat - especially this candied apple.
He could spend all day outside - except for those darn mosquitoes and this crazy heat in West Texas!
But, now, he's three!
Already THIS big!
I am loving the challenge that this bright little man has brought to our world.
I look forward to seeing what type of trouble we can get into (together...hehehe!).

Burned baby...
It was a life lesson... wear shoes, even if you are two and choose to do the opposite of what mama says! Owen ran outside to get to the truck. We were headed to the pool. I shouted after him, "Owen! You better put on your flip-flops or you are going to get hurt!" I wish I could have taken that back! I hate that he HAD to learn that life lesson the hard way! Within 15-20 seconds, Owen was screaming! I mean, SCREAMING! This, coming from the kid who can bonk his head on the table, or fall off of a toy onto the tile floor, rub the owie spot and say nothing more than, "Ouch!"
I ran out there (with MY flip-flops on) and scooped him up. He was sitting on the sidewalk, holding his left foot up and just SCREAMING. Huge tears rolling down his baby-soft face. Already, a blister had formed on the bottom of his baby foot! It covers over half of the ball of his foot. It's roughly the size of a half dollar coin. That's the best I can explain it. SUCKS! He cried for over an hour, despite the loves from mama, cool bath soak, Aloe Vera, ice pack, more loves from mama routine. He cried, inconsolably until he fell asleep. Poor baby!
Luckily, Daddy is a nurse. So, he took a look at it, fixed it up, wrapped it up, meditated it good...it's considered a 2nd degree burn. I can't allow him to wear just sandals or flip flops at school for fear of infection. I'm not going to let him swim at school, either, for the same reason. It's Sunday evening. He's finally walking on it, with shoes on ONLY. He's such a trooper. Sweet baby. I took a picture of it today (on day 3).
SO, here's your warning !GRAPHIC PICTURE POSTED BELOW! (It's not really that bad - just sad).

Playin' at the park with Tater!
Today we played at the park with Jenni & Tater! It was HOT! But, no one else was at the park! We found a nice place to picnic (minus the picnic tables & shade, plus the wasps/yellow jackets - poor Tater got stung within the first five minutes!) and play. Not many people seem to know about it yet. :) It's awesome!

Playing at the State Park
We played at the state park today with some of Brant's friends. The boys had a blast! I feel a little bad that most of the pictures are of Owen... but, he was having so much fun! The other boy in the photo is Joseph. Our friend's son. He adores our kids. Owen is up on a tall metal slide. He did that over and over and over. ON.HIS.OWN! So much courage in that little man. He even ended up carrying a volleyball up the slide! With him! No help! There was a crane or some other type of bird that decided to hang out with us for about 10 minutes. AND, the sunset was amazing!

Lookee who's TWO!!!
YUP, Our little Owen is two, today! We didn't do a party. We didn't do much at all... that breaks my heart for him, but, at the same time. He's two. He's got more than enough "stuff"... so, we just did a family thing this year.
And.. I took pictures. It's nearly impossible to get any of him smiling AT the camera... but, these are pretty good.
And, I took that cookie from up there to daycare. So, he DID celebrate with his friends. Sierra (an awesome kiddo that is too old to be in daycare but too young to be at home alone, helps out now. Caleb call her his girlfriend. Owen loves her to pieces!) took the picture of Owen and me. Good, no?

Any who, at two, Owen is a STINKER!
He is a copycat, I can do it myself, sweetie, meanie, swimming, laughing, dancing, singing, pushing, playing, running fool! He loves us all...he'll tell you if you don't believe me. His newest cute-for-now habit is to say, "Not you. ME!" for the name slot when we do the repeat-after-me-phrase of "I...love...fill-in-the-name-here." His green eyes astound me. His brown-blond hair is so soft and wispy. I love that little man!

Bluebonnets are blue-ti-ful!!!
I loved taking my boys (and my dad's) pictures yesterday. Here are just a small smattering of my favorites. Owen is in that "I refuse to look at the camera or smile -- so there" stage. FUN. But, lucky for me, he's a cutie even when NOT looking at the camera. Sinker. Caleb, on the other hand did fantastic! Such a beautiful - I should say handsome - blond. I am truly blessed! This one of my dad is his first good shot since my sisters wedding - 4 years ago! It was time for a new face book profile picture. NICE! Anywho, we took most of these at the Llano 4-H club. It was jam-packed with bluebonnets. God sure painted a beautiful canvas for us to enjoy! AWEsome!!!
