"My heart is breaking," said Caleb as he grabs his tummy.
"Why is your heart breaking?" asked Mommy, trying not to smile at the sweet remark.
"I think I have to poop," Caleb says, very matter-of-factly.
"Oh," Mommy utters as a giggle escapes.
**********************************************************
Fast forward 10 minutes later...
"Mommy, the crack stopped!" proclaimed Caleb.
"What crack stopped, baby?" Mommy asks.
"The crack in my tummy. It stopped when I remembered my heart was not breaking anymore," explained Caleb as he marches off to bed.
**********************************************************
Oh, the fun of an active imagination and mixing up words.
Did I tell you he sometimes says his heart is BEEPing? Got to love that boy!

Best Salad, ever!
I have successfully copied the salad at Carino's. In fact, my family LOVES it so much, we're eating it once a week. So, I thought I'd share the recipe with you.
Lettuce (your choice of which type)
sliced green apples (sliced into thin spears)
sweet roasted pecans
crumbled bacon
croutons
feta cheese crumbles
cheddar cheese
garlic peppercorn ranch
fresh ground pepper
(optional) cubed roasted chicken
This is best served with Parmesan or garlic buttered french bread.
My mouth is watering, as we speak.

Skipping out to hang out
I've been a bad girl. I skipped church... again.
My hunny had the morning off (a rare occasion around here)... so we lazied it yesterday morning and stayed in bed until 8. Then we got up and got dressed and headed to dad's house for breakfast. YUM!
I love lazy Sundays with my boys. It's a good thing not every day is Sunday. I'd be as big as a house... what with all of the eating and sitting around. The playing games and wrestling and holding sweet boys would surely lead to an even larger hiney.
So, yah.
Oh, my birthday was... um... uneventful. So, that is okay. I got a massage from the health club. It was... okay. I was wanting one of those uber relaxing things... but the masseuse was not accustomed to that type of massage. More like a pain management guy. Not totally relaxing. I'm not complaining. But, I could find something better to do with my $60 bucks. Okay, so maybe I am complaining. Then, we did tostadas at my Dad's house... Sabi came over. This was the highlight of my day. That, and Caleb telling me that when we got home he was going to wrap up one of his toys for my birthday present. So sweet!
Oh yah! Another highlight I just thought of... I got a text message from a teacher that one of our teachers delivered her baby on my birthday! How wonderful! The only scary part? She was only at 30 weeks, and baby Eva weighed only 2.5 pounds. But, both are doing well. I won't forget HER birthday, for sure.
So, here's to another year of living as a child of God. (even if I did skip out on church, post-birthday.) :)

Random bits
So, if you are looking for something to do next Wednesday at 9:30... may I suggest joining my team of girls at my school? We're having a contest to see how many parents/teachers/community members will walk with us at the stadium. We are... ahem ... in LAST place. We desperately want to beat the other two teams, as they are OVER-ACHIEVERS! You know who you are... or were (LOL - Jenny!).
Today, my team has lunch with loved ones. We're doing this outside. It should be nice weather. A bit chilly, perhaps... but nice. THEN... we are having each child make ice cream. It's like shake and bake ... only shake and chill. It's yummy! I am nervous about how we'll do it on a 130 times scale... but, it'll be okay.
Oh! And... tomorrow is my birthday! I love my birthday! Yeah ME! (you must say that in London Tipton's voice - go ahead... try it out.)

Sweet Potatoes = Very Yes
Owen had sweet potatoes tonight. Ummm... saying he loved it would be an understatement.
So, sweet potatoes will be fed by momma at night and on the weekend... until prunes on Monday. Oh joy.
And Miss Lisa (daycare) can feed him all the yucky stuff he doesn't love (see: green beans, carrots, and peas).
and, yes... I forgot my camera... again. oops!

Not so bad
Formula is stinky. Especially coming back up.
But, it's not so bad. The last three nights, that has been Owen's LAST feeding... at about 9. He's has actually SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT all three nights!
So, am I getting ahead on mooing? Not so much. I have two bags... and not much.
Oh! Owen's awake, finally. Got to go!

Ta-Da!
Found my camera! It wasn't the car that ate it, it was the diaper bag!
Here are my cuties, sporting Halloween gear.

Here we are in our Bobcat Orange and Blue! GO CATS! (ps... a win would be nice... I'm just saying'.)

My four-month old cutie.

Fingers are much better pacifiers that those plastic nipples!

STOP screaming!
This will be short and to the point, as my head is about to explode and I am therefore nauseous.
Owen has started screaming. Not the sweet crying of a baby that just needs _____ (whatever). More like "SOMEONE IS PULLING OFF MY LEFT LEG, AND I'M REALLY PISSED OFF ABOUT IT!" What?! Why?! I dunno.
Last night I attributed it to just having received his immunizations.
Tonight? I dunno. He'd had a four ounce bottle of formula... burped several times... and had been laughing and playing. I tried bouncing, rocking, simethicone, Tylenol, nursing, swaddling, and ignoring him. After 30 minutes of out-and-out SCREAMING, he wore himself out and passed out. My ears are still ringing... and I'm ready to pass out, myself.
Any thoughts?

Owen's 4 month stats
Weight: 13 pounds, 12 ounces
Height: 24.5 inches
40%/40%... so just peachy.
He's doing fantastic and Dr. P is excited to see how much he's grown.
He (Owen) can roll from any position to roll off of the bed... or away from food.
He's eating carrots, and now green beans.
We can give him formula at day care while I try to catch up during the day and weekends. I'll still nurse at night.
We go back just before Christmas... after our (hopefully last) appointment in San Antonio to check his kidneys.
PS - I think my car ate my camera. Caleb and I will be cleaning that out tomorrow morning... in the awesome coolness.

Inadequate
That pretty much sums up my feelings about myself, lately.
I am not keeping up (weekly) with the amount of mother's milk Owen needs. I used to be able to pump all week and take it to him for the next week. Now, we're lucky if what I pump all week makes it through Wednesday. That's the situation we're in today. So, I guess we'll have to suplement with ...eek... formula. I. DON'T. WANT. TO.

Not gone
I'm not gone from blogger world. Although, it may seem I have gone for good.
Caleb is ... well ... CALEB. He's full of smiles and questions and wonder and loves and ornery-ness all at the same time. It's getting better. But, he's still for rent.
Owen turned four months on Friday, October 3rd. WOW!!! He's getting so big! We've been feeding him carrots for the last week. He's still out on whether carrots are yummy or not. We have his check up tomorrow. I should be home early enough to post pictures at that time. I've got quite a few.
Our good friends had their first baby. We were in Dallas last week to visit. He's at 7 pounds, and seems half of Owen's size. It's crazy how much you forget about how tiny they are at the beginning.
October is finally here! It's my favorite month for several reasons. And also, not. Three years ago... I lost my mommy. She wasn't found. Well... she was. She went home. Jesus gets to play Scrabble with her, now. I am making light of this situation... I miss her terribly. I want desperately to just talk to her and pinch her elbows. I feel like I have to be the strong one for my family. And... I just want to cry about that.
I finished up my first six weeks of school... and didn't quit. Yeah me!
Anywho... I am still holding out for a full night's sleep without waking up to feed a little munchkin. Cross your fingers!
