Survey says...

Who has their momma's big feet?

Who has a big head and a bigger tummy?

And who is the newest "Foster" child?

That's right! It's a boy! Owen (maybe Sterling for the middle name)!
Yeah us!
My cheeks hurt from so much smiling!
Loves to all!

Today

We finally find out, today. Our Owen or Madeline will be decided. Well, I know it's already been decided...but we get to find out. I've really been feeling more and more of the little one. No more thinking it's gas. But, still...I don't feel it as much as I did with Caleb.

I am beyond excited. I can't seem to find the words to express my excitement. Seriously. That is odd.

Until this afternoon, adieu.

Wind and room issue

What the wind blew in...
  • Headache.
  • LOTS of dust.
  • a dry almost three-year-old who is currently "weeping" my carpet in the computer room/new baby room.
About that. Yeah. It's filled with the extra furniture I am too cheap to see or store or throw away. It has pretty painted walls and they are not even slightly babyish. My darling hubby doesn't want to paint over them, "Because they look good." But, that's not fair to baby #2. I have an idea in mind to do the whole cowboy/girl theme. It'd be easy to take either direction. We'll reuse the furniture in Caleb's room (crib, changing table, rocking chair), and stick some of the big kid furniture that has been living in our spare bedroom/computer room into Caleb's room. But, the question is, when? I'm hoping for spring break. My buddy, Sabi, will enlist her bf to help move stuff, since THEY won't let me. And ... I just hope it gets done before baby gets here.

That was so totally random. It's like...I am ADHD and not medicated ... or something.
I had to go back and change my title to match what all I typed.

By the way - going swimming today should be so fun. No male is going with me...meaning I will have to take a cold, wet almost three year old to the car...since he's not allowed into the dressing room. OR, I could just break the rules. Yeah. I think I'll do that. So there.

:P...

Just four more days, and 20 weeks...

Just four more days to find out the sex of our mini-foster.
I am beyond excited!!! That post will be the last post of January. That's a weird thought, too!

Here's a 20 week belly shot.
I couldn't bring myself to show the actual skin part. It's still icky below the belly button, kind of.
In 20 more weeks (or, God willing...less) we'll hold our new baby! WOW!!!

Darn, and Yeah!

Darn?
Yes, we have school. On time. It's not cold enough to not have it on time. We may even have to do a STUPID bus training today. EWWW! And, I was really hoping for some snowy-ish weather. I missed it last year. Brant and I were in Dallas for his brain surgery. (didn't find one, j/k....lol lol lol!)

Yeah?!
I won't be at school!!! Nah-nah-nah-nah-nah-nah (imagine a three-year-old singing it...you can do it!). I will be learning what pod casting is and how to do it at the region center today.

Another Yeah?!
In one week...one more week, we finally get to see our little person and call him/her a him or a her. We are so ready! I think I have started feeling him/her a bit. The sensation is more "on-top" than I remembered. Like not so much to the back (like spine-area) more like belly-button-area. Get the picture?

Wanted:

A can of fruit. Fruit cocktail, peaches, pears. Something. I am having a HUGE craving for fruit. Hmmmm?

Weird!

Bad Mommy

Two things -
1. Caleb stayed home from school yesterday because he had "green cement" in his nose and eyes. He had a sinus infection. So, antibiotics and dimatap were the prescribe cure. He was BOUNCING off the wall. I am exhausted, needless to say.

2. I have not taken a SINGLE photo of my big boy all month! Bad mommy. My sister called and pointed that out. He has a photo website that I haven't updated since the 31st. OF DECEMBER. OOPS!

Bowling

We took Caleb bowling on Sunday night. It was so fun! I wish I had my camera. He was adorable! The first game, we played without bumpers. He got a 15. The next game we played with bumpers. He got 82. WOW! Nearly beat me! I am ready to go back. Except that I am sore. Very sore...in my lower tummy area.

Again, that's all.

Circus

Not fun. Boring. Expensive.

Caleb had a blast! So, we'll go again next year.

That's all.

"Chinchiladas"

So, I satisfied my avocado enchilada craving. So yummy! I ate BY MYSELF at Fernandez. If you've never been there (and like Mexican food) you should try it. It's downtown on Chadbourne - not the downtown, side, though. They have the HOTTEST salsa ever. I can't eat much of it, without crying or melting.

So, when I picked up Caleb at church, I told him I had avocado enchiladas for dinner. He said, "Chinchiladas? I LOVE chinchiladas." and continued saying so all the way home. Told on me to Brant, too.

Yum!

Good news!

I went to the docotor today for the 18.5 week appointment. Everything is going fine. Got to hear the baby. I am measuring good. Only gained 3 pounds in a month (and that includes Christmas, people!). 8 pounds total, so far. And the best news?! We get THE sonogram on January 31st!!! YAHOO!! I must have misunderstood about the ultrasound and the 3-d timing or whatever. I'll blame it on pregnancy brain.

So, just 15 more days...until we find out the sex of our next Foster child. :)

Oh yeah! My maternity swimsuit came in yesterday! It is uber-cute. Fits nice. Was comfy to swim in too, yesterday.

On another note...I think my older child is very lazy. He had 3...yes, 3... wet accidents today at school. And the director was the one with his class today. So, he's in a pull-up tonight. I have to do laundry. Guess I could do that right now while I am alone.

Yep, alone. Caleb is at church. Brant is at school. Dad is on a "date" with the girl with almost the same name as me...again. (another blog - entirely) I am craving avocado enchiladas. Think I will have to treat myself to some. Alone. yippee.

Off to do a quick load of laundry and eat not good for me food. Toodles!

Half Way There

So, here we are. Half way through the school year. Ish. Realistically, we're not quite there yet, with days being more abundant on this "end" of the year.

Yahoo! I've never been so ready to be done! I love my students, really, I do. I just am so tired of the boring information I must present with enthusiasm. Yawn! I am also a bit tired of griping about it to my buds. Every day. Every conversation. So, I am working on not doing that, anymore (or any less. Just kidding!!!).

Another half way mark - I am officially four and a half months pregnant. So, basically, half way there. Not really, though. Since I guess 20 weeks would technically be half way there. I am just 18.5 weeks. I get to go to the doctor tomorrow. I am praying to schedule an earlier sonogram than another month from now. I am eager to know. But, you already know that. Did I mention I am not feeling the baby? Not that I have, yet. But, it's driving me crazy! I feel "stuff" then I wait two minutes. Nope - that was just gas. Again, I should say, good things come to those who wait. Right? Right.

Caleb will be 3 in a month. HOLY COW!!! We are 100% ish potty trained AT HOME. At school, however, we are on a steady downward spiral of tee-teeing at nap time. Weird thing is he stays dry overnight in his pull-up at home. Hmmmm.... Several factors I am not in control of there. Volume of liquid intake prior to nap time. New teacher at nap time that apparently doesn't love her job. Stubborn almost-3-year-old, perhaps?

Brant went back to school yesterday. He now has night classes on Monday, Wednesday, and a lab on Thursday night. It'll be okay. I'll see him....um, as he gets ready frantically in the morning, right? Right.

We swim tonight. Provided Caleb stays dry at school. My swimsuit is not here yet. I am ready to be cute-ish. And comfortable.

Well, I'm off to get ready to face the day. Have a good one!

Money Woes

I am taking away my husband's checkbook.

Overdraft charges are killing us!

He writes checks for $1.21, $3.54, etc. for lunch at his work.

That's not so bad. Except I swear the bank is holding them all until we are close to zero. So, that stupid $1.21 is now $26.21...etc.

It's pissing me off, royally.

WE should be totally ahead this month. I didn't spend poo during Christmas - on anyone. AND, I got paid a little extra for technology.

CRAP!

Maternity Swimwear

I want to swim a couple days a week with Caleb at the health club.

Problem? Don't have ANYTHING that fits my expanding belly.

So, I squoze - yes, it's a word - into a tiny one piece from pre-pregnancies last night.

That was weird. But it worked...this time.

Swimming - by the way - while pregnant, is odd. The whole body is more differenter... and stuff.

So, I took Jenni's advice. I ordered a maternity swimsuit on EBay...while at school. My bad! :) Should be here in a couple days. YIPPEE!!

Waiting until...

Now we are having to wait until I am 24 weeks, according to my doctor's nurse. That is SEVEN more weeks!!! "Good things come to those who..." blah, blah, blah!

7 weeks from now, my baby boy will be 3!
7 weeks from now, we'll be into the 5th six weeks.
7 weeks from now, Valentine's day will have come and gone.
7 weeks from now, both the 6th grade and the big Glenn science fair will be over. (YES!!!)

so, 7 weeks from now...maybe we'll know for sure what this little bean is... if nothing else pans out before then. Maybe I can talk Brant into going to Community at night to visit the L & D part of the hospital. I hear they beat their own drum...do what they will. We'll see. I'll keep you posted.

By the way - how not nice is it for people to come up to a pregnant woman and exclaim, "my goodness! You are huge?!" I mean, really?! I know this...I don't need your skills in observation. Thank you very much. Just kidding. It doesn't really bother me. I am glad I am obviously pregnant and not just "fat - or pregnant - we can't tell..." :)

Two Caleb funnies

One thing that is still cracking me up...

Caleb wakes me up yesterday at 7:30. He looks at the clock and says, "Momma, it's twenty dollars. That means it's time to get up."

So, we have the concept that the clock has to do with numbers. Cute!

Another funny. I have been asking Caleb to bring me bottled water out of the refrigerator, each night before bed. He usually climbs up on his step stool, and reaches into the refrigerator and gets a cold one for me. Last night, I asked him to do the same. After about five minutes, I notice he hasn't returned with my water. I turn down the music I am listening to, and hear him calling (calmly, thank goodness) "Mama! Mama!" I high tail it to the kitchen and this is what I find:
Evidently, we were nearly out of water. Caleb was not comfortable enough to step back down and was stuck. HILARIOUS!
Just thought I would share. :)
