Funny

I was visiting LOLcats, as I do daily.
I thought I'd try out GraphJam. It's okay.
Not quite as funny, even, as failblog...
but this one graph struck me as post-able.
I hope you enjoy. Happy Weekend to ya'!

Must. Stop.

Editing. Header. Must. Do. Something. Else.

K. It's as good as I can get it right now. I did NOT copy MckMama's stuff after all. I searched for "randomly changing header for blogger" at ask. It has taken me a bit of time... see time for last post... compare with time for this post.

Guess I should go eat some lunch, now... huh? If you want to see the 7 different headers that I have created (she says like Dr. Frankenstein), refresh your page several times.

Hope you enjoy!
Ta-ta!

Wanting to be more tech-savy

So, I am a big time blog stalker. I admit it. I want to be awesome and make time for all of the stuff in my life AND blog, daily (or more). But, what I'd really like to do right now (instead of the other spring break items I planned to accomplish) is create a header for my blog that randomly changes... like this one at MckMama's. I think I'll try to figure that one out. Even though, in the html code it states (below this html code I want to use):

his blog is protected by the Fair Use & Commercial Use Copyright Protection Act.You may not copy or edit this code. Any unauthorized use of this blog's design, code, or content will be strictly enforced.

Ummm... what exactly does that mean? I'm a little scared... but it's not like I'm using any of her awesome widgets or photos or whatever. I'm just going to *try* to make a randomly changing header. Is that illegal? and what is said enforcement? hmmmm... (said as she is looking around for the laser lights that might come through the window any moment now.)

**** Update ****
Okay, so before I even posted THIS post, I looked up the Fair Use & Commercial Copyright Protection Act on ask.com. This is what I found:

Although the doctrine of fair use was originally created by the judiciary, it is now set forth in the Copyright Act. Under the Act, four factors are to be considered in order to determine whether a specific action is to be considered a "fair use." These factors are as follows:
  1. the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes;
  2. the nature of the copyrighted work;
  3. the amount and substantially of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; and
  4. the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work.

So, I think... I'm good. Plus, I couldn't find any "enforcements." So, yah. I'm living dangerously. Please visit me ... if I go to the slammer. K?

Wish I had the camera running...

Caleb was putting away (into the sink) his dinner plate, and I noticed he had not quite finished his meal.

I said, "Caleb, you won't get more fruit, if you don't eat the rest of that."

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
This is where the video camera would have been, oh, so handy.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

To which he replied, "Hellooooooooooooooo... Gum, MOM!"

Good thing Brant was behind him and Caleb couldn't see Brant nearly shoot beer out his nose with hysterical, but silent laughter.

See, Caleb had another GREAT day at school today. And, since he did, he earned EITHER computer time BEFORE dinner or a piece of gum AFTER dinner.

Apparently he remembered and was ready to take payment on his day done well.

**and, No! I NEVER say that phrase to him... or anyone else. Hellooooooooooooooooooo!**

Just a thought

at the end of church this morning, I had a thought. It feels good. So, I thought I'd share said thought.

With the big, "save the planet" movement, everyone is going green, right?

I think with the big, "save the planet" movement, everyone should go green, and ... go JESUS!

Just a thought.

MoTY?!

Mom of the Year, really? I, too, am honored, Lisa. I didn't even think you knew that I really lurked around your blog. Thanks so much!! I must admit that I had to re-read your blog and actually click on my name, before I even thought that the "Sara" was me. hehehe!

The rules:1. Admit that ONE thing you feel awful about involving being a mom. Get it off your shoulders. Once you've written it down, you are NO LONGER allowed to feel bad. It's over with, it's in the past. remember, you're a good mom!

Monday before last, Caleb had a VERY bad day at school. I'm talking about that day that the teacher in me says, "MY kid would NEVER act this way." He had 10 time-outs or bad behavior sessions AT SCHOOL! The last time he had a bad day, I asked the teacher to write down exactly what happened so I would know the antecedent... what lead up to it ... so we might figure out how we could try to prevent future occurrences. I should just say that meant THREE pages of written notes for that day. ANYWHO... our usual punishment is: for every timeout at school, you get one swat/lick/spank at home. NO WAY could I give him 10 swats. So, we cut that number in half... and made him pick who would give him said punishment. It was either Daddy with bare hands, or Momma with the wooden spoon. He picked me. I made him count out the swats, while holding onto a chair. It was horrible. Also, we took away his favorite toy (the ONLY birthday present he got from us) - Bumble Bee Transformer (for the week), and TV privileges (which, at our house means no Disney Channel while Momma is getting ready in the morning, and no Noggin' at PaPa's house at night) for the week. I just kept praying he would learn his lessons and we would NEVER have to do that again.

2. To remind yourself that you ARE a good mom, list SEVEN things you love about your kids, you love doing with your kids, or that your kids love about you. These are the things to remind yourself of EVERY DAY that you rock!
  1. I LOVE reading with Caleb. He's so stinkin' smart, at 4!
  2. I LOVE singing with Caleb. You should hear his made up songs! They are hilarious!
  3. I LOVE watching Caleb pretend/creative play. He's so creative and inventive!
  4. I LOVE watching my boys play together. Who knew that they would have so much love for each other?!
  5. I LOVE watching Owen explore. Everything is new and exciting!
  6. I LOVE getting sweet, wet, four-teeth-popping, kisses from Owen. YUM!
  7. I LOVE when Owen is tired and tries to snuggle with me. He only has eyes for me, that boy. :)

3. Send this to FIVE other moms of the year that deserve forgiveness and a reminder that they, too, are the best moms they can be!!! Remember to send them a note to let them know you've selected them, and add a link to the person who nominated you!

Here are FIVE deserving mommies, in no particular order:

Ever so slightly perturbed

I have this friend. If she introduces me to anyone, it's always, "This is Sara. She's my bestest friend in the whole world."

So, I would consider us very good friends. You think?

Well... she is getting RE-re-re-married to her guy... they've split up several times (see divorced and re-married 3 times to the same guy) and now he's sober and a real human, and ... anywho. He proposed (*AGAIN*) last weekend (in the 76904 section of the garage sale ads), and she said yes.

This morning, I was talking to her about how we needed to catch up on the goings on in her household and mentioned that I would have more time to talk after work. She said she wouldn't be available because she is going to get their marriage license today... so they can get RE-re-re-married next Thursday... and honeymoon next weekend.

Um... WHAT?!

So, I am good enough to be called your bestest friend, but not good enough to be told, without coercing, that you are already getting RE-re-re-married? Let alone, be invited or asked to play an important role?

I know, I know... it's a personal problem, here. But, still. I think I deserve to feel sad and ever so slightly perturbed (yet, happy that things are going well).

right?

Two more toofs

Man, it's hard work, cutting teeth!

Owen has been working all of February to cut those top two toofers. They have finally broken through the gums. It look so painful! They've bled and everything!

Stay tuned for a picture update. Just have to hurry up and leave school... get the kids... take the picture... upload it... and presto!

Bad mommy... not taking enough pictures, right now. :(
